Study: a quarter of Internet content "pirated




A recent study conducted by the Foundation " Net Namz " , specialized in the fight against piracy , that 24 % of the data circulating on the Internet was linked to piracy of copyrighted material , printing and copying.

The study attributed the increase in piracy to the widening use of the Internet around the world , pointing out some of the attempts and governments around the world to prevent the violation of intellectual property rights but remain a few attempts , in the eyes of those in charge of the study , which predicted an increase of piracy in the future.

The study was conducted on users in North America , Europe and Asia , where data were analyzed circulating on the Web year, found researchers at nearly 100 billion gigabytes of data pirated traded, which constitutes 23.8 % of the total data that has been circulating on the Internet in this period , with knowing that the band dedicated to this kind of file sharing operations has increased by 160 % in the period between 2010 and 2012 .

It is noteworthy that the study focused on certain types of files , specifically the music and movies , video games and e-books , but avoided focusing on pornography , which is difficult to prove their intellectual property rights , according to the disclaimer based on the study.
